ABOUT
Mommas On Fire is a women-led movement in Turkana, Kenya, where vibrant beadwork becomes a catalyst for change. Born from ancestral artistry and collective resilience, our community enterprise uplifts women and fuels a new future—one where mothers fund their daughters’ education, families thrive, and culture is preserved through creation.
This is more than craft. It’s livelihood, legacy, and leadership braided into every bead.
OUR MODEL
Crafted by Mothers Hands. Powered by Purpose.
Our beadwork business is a vehicle for generational change:
Earned with Dignity: Each artisan earns a fair wage for her skilled labor and indigenous craftsmanship.
Profit Sharing: Net profits are reinvested directly into the community:
25% to fund Girls’ Scholarships and retention for girls in local schools
25% to Community-Led Projects (like water access, reforestation, classroom painting & workplace upgrades)
25% to Business Reinvestment
25% to Reserve Fund
Led by Women: Local artisans vote on how funds are used—ensuring every decision reflects community priorities.
Our partners—Strathmore University, Girls On Fire Leaders, and Another Kind of Future—support with training, mentorship, and curriculum delivery.
This is grassroots economics, done differently.

OUR BELIEF
We believe that when women have income, knowledge, and voice—they uplift not just their children, but entire communities.
We believe in a model where cultural craft meets global market.
We believe women are not beneficiaries of aid—but architects of change.
